B.E.S.T. in Class
History & Overview
In 2023, Telligen introduced the B.E.S.T. in Class recognition program. Awarded annually, the B.E.S.T. in Class is built off the success of Telligen’s Blue Ribbon in COVID-19 Vigilance award, raising the bar and recognizing nursing homes who are providing safe and quality care to their residents.
Telligen recognizes 94 nursing homes across Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Oklahoma as B.E.S.T. in Class.
In order to qualify, each nursing home must receive Telligen’s Blue Ribbon in COVID-19 Vigilance award for multiple quarters per year, complete Telligen’s Emergency Preparedness Assessment, have at least 75% of staff complete infection prevention and control training, and reduce the number of preventable emergency department visits by 5% (or be within the top 25% of Telligen’s enrolled nursing homes) or, effective April 2024, improve the number of 30-day all-cause rehospitalizations by 5% (or be within the top 25% of Telligen’s enrolled nursing homes).
